What kinds of issues do we address with the services offered at Way to Grow?
Our occupational therapists can help children who struggle with:
- Fine motor skills development (small coordinated movements of the fingers and hands)
- Development of hand skills (ability to move fingers individually, use appropriate grasp, etc.)
- Independence with daily living skills (dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, self-feeding)
- Organizing themselves or their materials
- Making successful transitions and regulating themselves
- Engaging in daily routine successfully
- Sensory processing skills (hates loud sounds, bright lights, sensitive to smell, picky about what they wear, touch, or eat, easily overwhelmed in busy or crowded situations, etc.)
- Self-regulation (has prolonged tantrums, difficulty calming down when upset, etc.)
Our occupational therapists address the needs of children with diagnoses of:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- ADHD
- Sensory Processing Disorder or challenges
- Dysgraphia
- Learning disabilities
- Genetic disorders such as Down Syndrome
Our speech and language therapists help children who have challenges with:
- Delayed development of speech and/or language
- Trouble speaking clearly or being understood
- Understanding what is said to them
- Understanding social cues (communicating feelings through facial expressions or tone of voice)
- Stuttering
Our speech therapists address the needs of children with diagnoses of:
- Articulation Disorders
- Receptive and/or Expressive Language Disorders
- Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Fluency Disorders
- Genetic Disorders
